Bid to kidnap muslim youth at Batla; Imam demands arrest
New Delhi, Oct 17 (UNI) Shahi Imam of Fatehpuri Masjid Maulana Mufti M Mukaram Ahmed Saheb today called for an arrest of persons who tried to kidnap a Muslim youth in Jamia Nagar.
Dr Ahmed was addressing a congregation after Friday prayers at the Mosque.
The alleged kidnappers yesterday drove a black car, which was without any number plate, he said. When they were seen leaving the area with a Muslim youth of the locality, the residents of the area grew suspicious about their motive and they forcibly freed the youth from their clutches, he said.
The identity of people in the car could not be verified.
He reiterated his demand for judicial probe into the Batla house encounter.
Stating that communal riots had spread across many states, he said these seemed to be pre-planned.
