This caused the financial hardships, he said, adding he would hold discussions with the Union Home Minister and take steps to get funds for Panchayati Raj institutions in Puducherry.
He said Puducherry Chief Minister V Vaithilingam had requested him to set up a National Training Institute for Panchayats in Puducherry. This would be considered. There was no such institute anywhere in the country presently, he added.
