Vishal and Abhishek to clash for title in final of Asian tennis

Kolkata, Oct 16 (UNI) Top seed Vishal Passi and second seed Abhishek Alla will clash for the title in the final tomorrow of the second Asian 14&under Tennis Tournament.

Passi had a tough time to tame Shaikh Abdullah as he gave a tough battle before conceding 7-5 in the first set. But he ran out of steam in the second set and crashed to a 0-6 defeat.

Local boy Md Azhar also gave second seed Abhishek Alla something to think about. He took the first set 6-2 but could not keep the momentum. Alla came back very strongly to etch out a 2-6,6-0,6-1 victory.

In the Girls section top seed Amrita Mukherjee had to adjust her hard hitting playing style to beat the fourth seed C Sai Samitha 6-3,6-4. Unseeded Simran Kaur Sethi became the other finalist. She defeated fifth seed Rimpledeep Kaur 6-3,6-4.

Vishal Passi (1) beat Shaikh Abdullah (3) 7-5,6-0, Abhishek Alla (2) beat Md. Azhar 2-6,6-0,6-1.

Girls' Singles: Amrita Mukherjee (1)(14) beat C. Sai Samitha (4) 6-3,6-4, Simran Kaur Sethi beat Rimpledeep Kaur (5) 6-3,6-4.
