UP govt asks construction of boundry walls in crematoriums
Lucknow, Oct 16 (UNI) Taking note of the increasing encroachment upon public land, especially of the Waqf, the Uttar Pradesh government today directed its officials to erect boundry walls in crematoriums and funeral grounds for security.
UP Chief Secretary Atul Kumar Gupta had dashed-off a letter to all the divisional commissioners, district magistrates and director local bodies and asked them to keep a check on the increasing encroachments upon the public land happening majorly due to hike in circle rates.
The illegal encroachments sometimes also cause communal tension, Mr Gupta added.
Therefore, construction of boundry walls at crematoriums and funeral grounds should also be done as a precautionary step, the chief secretary directed.
