Lucknow, Oct 16 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Atya Patya Association would organise the 17th Sub Junior National Atya Patya championship for boys and girls from October 17 to 19 here at the Northern Railway Stadium.
Briefing media, championship organising secretary Youjin Pal said about 600 players and officials of 25 state teams of the country would participate during the three day championship.
In the last edition of the championship, held at Hyderabad (AP), Karnataka won the top place, while Pudduchery claimed the runners up position.
The National team would be selected on the basis of the performance of participants in this championship, Mr Pal said.
The meet would be inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Sports minister Ayodhya Prasad Pal, while the chief guest of the closing ceremoney would be Dr Kashmir Singh, Joint secretary Home, Government of India on October 19.
The secretary also informed that the association would honour city's those players, who won laurels in other games besides Atya Patya previously. The guest of honour of the day would be city Mayor Dr Dinesh Sharma.
