Indian students believe Obama will be next US president

New Delhi, Oct.16 : Indian students believe that Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama will become the 44th president of the United States on November 4 this year.

"I think for myself Obama is a good candidate and he is a good orator also. From that point of view, he is having very good opinion about Iran and Iraq issues as well as I feel that he is a very good candidate and he is going to win elections 100 percent," said Priyanka, a student at the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

Some of the students observed that Obama's victory would dent racism in the United States.

"According to me the indications that we are getting through surveys and Television reports indicate Obama is the winner. This is good as a black president would be appointed and this would send a good message across the world. This would have some effect on racism," said Satish Chaudhary, another student.

Others considered Obama to be more of a politician than McCain who they said was military oriented.

"Foreign policy decisions and defense decisions are different. McCain doesn't know how to differentiate between the two right now. He is more of a military person than a politician. While Obama's most biggest advantage point is that he is a politician first and then a defense analyst. For this kind of situation, which is prevailing in America, it is in war right now ando solution is foreseen. It is in a bad shape because of that Obama is getting the preference," said Devdeep Chaudhary, a student.

Two quick polls by CBS News and CNN after the final debate Judged Obama the winner over the Republic Candidate Senator McCain.

Obama was also given thumbs up at the first two presidential debates.

Either of the candidates needs at least 270 electoral votes to win the Electoral College and capture the White House.
