Russia opens honorary Consulate in Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 16 (UNI) Russia has opened an honorary Consulate in Kerala, the first one of any country in the state.
Assuming charge as the first Honorary Consul of the Russian Federation, Mr Ratheesh C Nair told UNI here today that it was a great honour to have an honorary Consulate in the state.
''The honorary Consulate has been opened at an important juncture of Indo-Russia cooperation,'' he said.
Russia is poised to make major investments and sharing of know-how in Kerala, Mr Nair said and added that the Consulate would boost trade relations.
''There are many Russian ventures in the pipeline, including tourism, Ayurveda, education and culture,'' Mr Nair said.
''The Consulate will help Kerala and its people,'' in a great way he said.
Prior to his present appointment, he was the director of the Russian Cultural Centre here.
