President to honour Nirmal Gram sarpanch
Chandigarh, Oct 16 (UNI) The Haryana government's policy to develop villages on the pattern of cities has given a new look to Gomla village of Mahendragarh district.
The government has listed this village as a 'Nirmal Gram'.
President Pratibha Patil will honour village Sarpanch Radheshyam Gomla, who played a remarkable role in making the village clean and beautiful, in Hisar tomorrow.
Out of 45 Nirmal Grams in Mahendragarh district, Gomla village set a unique example for others. The Gram Panchayat developed a park on an area of 124X160 feet, costing Rs 2.50 lakh from Panchayat fund, an official spokesman said.
The Panchayat is developing another park covering an area of about 80X72 feet, in Scheduled Castes Basti, costing Rs 1.50 lakh.
Urinals have been provided at a distance of every 200 metres in the whole village. There are five dustbins in each street.
Toilets and water connections are provided in every house of the village.
