National Athletic meet for hearing impaired in Goa from October 18

Panaji, Oct 16 (UNI) About 650 children are expected to participate in the two day All India Athletic meet for hearing impaired students, organised by Lokvishwas Prathishtan under the aegis of Directorate of Social Welfare to be held at Pandit Jawaharlal Nenhru stdium Fatorda in South Goa from October 18.

Chairman of the organising committee Mr Suresh Kudchadkar speaking to media persons here today said for the first time such a event is being organised in Goa and the participants from Maharastra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi and hosts Goa have already confirmed their participation.

There will be track and field event of 50 mts, 100 mts, 200 mts, 400 mts,800 mts race, 4 x100 mts relay race, 4 x400 mts relay, three legged race, throw ball, discus throw, short put, long jump and skipping for girls, the sources added.

All the events will be individual events. There will be four age groups for the participents comprising 7 to 10 years, 10 to 13 years, 13 to 17 years and 17 to 21 years.
