Low pressure, more rains to occur in TN
Chennai, Oct 16 (UNI) Yesterday's feeble low pressure over Cape Comerin and neighbourhood moved westwards and became a trough of low pressure, promising more rains in several parts of Tamil Nadu.
The trough lies over South West Bay and adjoining West Central bay off Tamil Nadu and South Andhra coast.
Under its influence rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over coastal Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and at many places over interior Tamil Nadu during the next 24 hours.
Chennai city would have a generally cloudy sky with a few spells of rain or thundershowers. The showers would be heavy at times, weather office sources said.
Meanwhile, Chennai city and some parts of Tamil Nadu experienced scattered rains.
The showers were heavy at times and caused hardship to office-goers. Several lowlying areas were inundated leading to traffic jams.
The sky remained overcast right through the day.
Reports from other parts of the state said Southern Tirunelveli district received widespread rains.
