New Delhi, Oct 16 (UNI) Terming the Jet Airways' decision to sack employees as ''painful'', Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Murli Deora today appealed to Jet chief Naresh Goyal to find out alternative solution.
''This is not the right time to retrench people, particularly before Diwali...I request Mr Goyal to chalk out a solution,'' Mr Deora told reporters here.
The airline has sacked 1,900 employees, mostly cabin crew, which it expected to result in savings of one million dollars a month.
The airline has also entered into an operational alliance with competitor Kingfisher Airlines.
