Day 3: Models catwalk ramp backwards to make DFW entertaining
New Delhi, Oct 16 (UNI) Day Three of the Delhi Fashion Week (DFW) began with an international model sashaying the ramp backwards in slow motion in designers Smita Singh Rathore and Himanshu Shani's creation.
Speaking to UNI after the show, Smita said, ''The idea of making models walk backwards is that not all garments are beautiful from the front only. There are garments that are beautiful from the back also.'' ''The theme of the show was just the clothes that we love to wear.
It was all about comfortable and easy to wear clothes. It was about wearibility,'' she quipped.
About the idea behind the name of the label being 11/11, the designer said,'' These are the numbers that keep repeating in our lives. It is a philosophy and a lot of people follow it.'' According to her, when these numbers began to appear, it meant it was time to uncover the truth.
The Bollywood flavour was missing from the show, but the creations and the lively music made up for it. The show even got a standing ovation from the audience.
Predominantly western styles ruled the show, which lend an international aura to the show. Ethnic wear was missing in the collection.
The colour palette included blacks, whites and browns and avaided vibrant colours, as in previous shows.
Models carried accessories like hats and bags during the show.
