Moga, Oct 16 (UNI) Police have taken possession of the clothes of the alleged rape and acid attack victim dalit woman to ascertain whether the injuries sustained by her on Monday were caused by acid or some other hot substance.

SSP Moga Ashok Bath today said that as a three-member panel of doctor could not confirm whether the burn injuries were caused by acid or hot milk or hot water, the clothes of Paramjit Kaur have been taken to get a chemical examination done at a forensic laboratory to confirm whether she was attacked by acid as alleged by her.

While the doctors, who re-examination Paramjit Kaur, have confirmed that she had sustained burn injuries, they said it was difficult to ascertain the exact cause as she had already been given treatment.

The SSP stated that he had constituted four-member special investigation team, adding that the police had arrested all the three accused involved in the ''acid attack'' case and booked them under section 326 IPC.

While the main accused Soni was arrested this morning, the other two Nita and Jeeta, were arrested last evening. They all are residents of Ghalkalan village where the victim also resides, he said.

The ''acid attack'' victim Paramjit Kaur had earlier ripped off her clothes in front of a police station to get an FIR registered against the same people accusing them of raping her in May.

All the accused were arrested in the alleged rape case but later released on bail.
