Melbourne, Oct.16 : Former England football captain David Beckham and his LA Galaxy teammates will visit Brisbane to play the Queensland Roar in an exhibition match on December 11.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Roar officials and Queensland Sports Minister Judy Spence said that the crowd-pulling friendly match would be played at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium.
Suncorp Stadium general manager Paul Sergeant said LA Galaxy management were impressed with what Brisbane had to offer.
''(Suncorp Stadium) is arguably the finest rectangle stadium in this part of the world, if not the world,'' he said.
"There's some fantastic (training) facilities down at Ballymore and the QRU have been very very supportive and very very accommodating in making them welcome, and likewise with the hotels around town.''
Sergeant defended Beckham's playing record with his new team against suggestions the England star may pull out of the Brisbane game.
"If you look at his playing history, the Galaxy has had 28 games and he's played 24 of them. The only four he has missed is because of international duties,'' he said.
Beckham drew a crowd of 80,000 to Sydney's ANZ Stadium late last year when the Galaxy went down 5-3 to Sydney FC despite a signature goal from the former England captain.
Spence said tickets had been priced at 17.50 dollars for children and 35 dollars for adults to help fill the stadium.
