Winter session of Pondy Assembly to commence on Oct 20

Puducherry, Oct 15 (UNI) The winter session of the Puducherry Legislative Assembly will commence on October 20.

A notification in this regard was issued by Assembly Secretary M Sivaprakasam here today.

The session, the first after V Vaithilingam assumed office as Chief Minister would get the bill for the 'Goondas Act' passed in the House.

The session, likely to be held for two days, would be stormy with opposition AIADMK against introduction of the 'Goondas Act' in Union Territory and discussion on several issues like implementation of the recommendation of Sixth-Pay Commission to the government employees, financial crisis, among other matters.
