Week-long Kullu Dussehra concludes today
Shimla, Oct 15 (UNI) The week-long Kullu Dussehra festival concluded with traditional fervour in the Lal Chand Prarthi Kala Kendra at Kullu today.
Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, who presided over the closing ceremony, paid his obeisance before the palanquins of Raghunath Ji, the presiding deity of the Dussehra festival, at Dhalpur ground. As many as 212 deities had participated in the Dussehra Festival this time.
Speaking on the occasion the Chief Minister announced that all the participating deities would be eligible to draw 10 percent additional 'Nazrana' besides Rs 1,000 to each participating deities from Banjar, Rs 2000 to Ani deities and Rs 3000 to those visiting from Nirmand area and Rs 50 lakhs to be spent over the renovation of Lal Chand Prarthi Kala Kendra, Kullu.
He said that it was heartening to experience that people of the state participated in all such events with much enthusiasm which has helped in conservation of the rich Himachali cultural heritage.
He said that Kullu Dussehra had acclaimed international recognition and emerged as a major attraction to the tourists from different parts of the world.
