"We are'nt but Cong is communalising terrorism," Advani
Ranchi, Oct 15 (UNI) BJP's prime ministerial candidate Lal Krishna Advani today made a counter-attack on the Congress, accusing it of communalising terrorism and wondered why the UPA government at the Centre was hesitating to implement ''death sentence'' to Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru despite the apex court's verdict.
''The very soft attitude adopted by the Congress towards a particular community ruptured the country's internal security so much that the terrorists once used to infiltrate from Pakistan and now SIMI was carrying out sinister operations at will while staying in the country and moving freely among us,'' Mr Advani said at his Vijay Sankalp rally held at historic Morabadi Ground here.
''They (Cong) say we are communalising terrorism...No, not at all...the BJP is against those who want to disrupt integrity of the country....'' he said, adding if the Parliament attack convict had been a Hindu, Dalit or Christian the government would have hanged him without delay.
He said, ''the terrorist was a terrorist and the Congress was trying to sooth the sentiment of Muslim community for Afzal Guru, who belonged to Kashmir.'' He then he referred to his yesterday's visit to Kerala where he was informed that the state government gave Rs 14,000 per annum to a Muslim student of poor class and a paltry amount of Rs 240 to SC/ST student per anum.
''Why such discrimination?'' Mr Advani said and made a scathing attack on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for his economic policy which made distinction among caste, creed and community in terms of making the financial benefits reach people.
''As
a
person
I
feel
the
government
should
ensure
that
financial
benefits
reach
all
poor
and
not
a
particular
community.''
