Southwest monsoon withdrawn in Karnataka
Bangalore, Oct 15(UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office here at 0830 hours today.
Southwest monsoon has withdrawn from entire Karnataka and Simultaniously north east monsoon rains commenced over Tamil Nadu parts of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala.
Rainfall occurred at a few places over South Interior Karnataka.
Mainly dry weather prevailed over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka.
Chief amounts of rainfall (cm): Gundlupet 4; K.E.R.Sagar, Chintamani, Turuvekere, Tiptur 3 each; Sravanabelgola, Hunsur, Anekal, Gubbi 2 each; Dudda, Arsikere, Nagathan, Mysore, Bangarpet, Sidlaghatta, Bangarpet, Chintamani, Channapatna, C.N.Halli, Tumkur 1 each.
Temperatures: Maximum temperatures changed little over the State. They were markedly above normal at most places over Coastal Karnataka; above normal at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and were normal over North Interior Karnataka. Karwar recorded highest maximum temperature of 37.5 degree celsius over the State.
Minimum temperatures changed little over the State. They were above normal at a few places over Coastal Karnataka; however below normal at a few places over North Interior Karnataka and were normal over South Interior Karnataka. Bagalkote recorded lowest mininmum temperature of 17.2 degree celsius over the State.
Forecast valid until Friday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and isolated places over Coastal Karnataka. Mainly dry weather is likely to prevail over North Interior Karnataka.
Farmers Weather Bulletin: Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over all the districts of all the districts of South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka. Mainly dry weather likely to prevail over all districts of North Interior Karnataka.
