Chandigarh, Oct 15 (UNI) Simi Mehra stretched her lead to 18 strokes at the end of second round of the fourth Leg of the DLF Women's Professional Golf Tour at the Chandigarh Golf Club here today.
Simi returned a card of 2 under 70 taking her two day total to 2 under 142. With a birdie on the 2nd hole and a double bogey on the 7th hole, Simi turned at 1 over through 9 holes.
She went on to making another double bogey on the par four 15th hole, only to have a very strong finish with birdies on the last three holes.
Maintaining her second position is Nalini Singh, who with a round of 11 over 83 has a two days' total of 16 over 160.
In the third place, with a round of 7 over 79 and a two days total of 18 over 162, is Kolkata's Vandana Agarwal.
Meanwhile, Sharmila Nicollet maintained her lead in the amateurs with a round of 3 over 75 and a two days total of 3 over 147.
Sharmila turned at 4 over through 9 holes but made a good comeback on the back 9 with a 1 under 35.
Shweta Galande had a struggling day with her long game as she hit only 5 greens in regulation but managed to contain her score to 5 over 77 with only 29 putts.
The amateur pair of Sharmila and Shweta will play along side Simi Mehra in the leader group on the final round, to be held tomorrow.
