Sexual exploitation of children at tourism centres to be curbed
Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 15 (UNI) Kerala Home and Tourism Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan today said effective steps would be taken to check sexual exploitation of children at tourism centres in the state.
Addressing a high-level conference of officials from Tourism, Home and Social Welfare Departments, he said even though such incidents were rare, the government had issued necessary instructions for keeping tight vigil in tourism centres.
Mr Balakrishnan said necessary steps would also be taken to curb immoral activities under the cover of massage parlours. Strong police pickets would be posted at important tourism centres during the tourism season.
The conference was convened in the wake of media reports about immoral activities at certain tourism centres in the state.
