Pune, Oct 15 (UNI) The city crime branch officials today arrested a 40-year-old man Pintu Sengupta for using the National emblem and pasting a government of India sticker on his car to to avoid paying toll on the Highways.

Talking to reporters, Joint Commissioner of Police Rajendra Sonawane clarified that the entire episode had nothing to do with President Pratibha Patil's visit, who was in the city for her four days programme.

The use of national emblems and government stickers on private vehicles was illegal and Sengupta had parked the car, a silver Maruti Swift with a Delhi registration on Baner Road Near Balewadi on Saturday and the same route was used by President Pratibha Patil on sunday to inaugurate the Commonwealth Youth Games, Sonawane said.

Meanwhile, Cyber Cell of City Police today appealed to Wi-Fi service providers and users to prevent misuse of the network and issued guidelines for safe use of the technology.

Police said in the city some institutes are providing Wi-Fi network, which is used by different users. ''If the network is unsecured then this may be misused for illegal activities, or by terrorists'', they said.
