Chandigarh, Oct 15 (UNI) Over 17.71 lakh tonnes of paddy has arrived in the mandis of Haryana so far during the current Kharif season.
Stating this here today, a spokesman for the Food and Supplies Department said that out of the total paddy arrival, 10.99 lakh tonnes has been procured by the government agencies at the minimum support price and the remaining about 6.72 lakh tonnes has been purchased by the private millers and traders.
He said Hafed has procured 4.48 lakh tonnes of paddy, Food and Supplies Department 3.42 lakh tonnes, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 1.10 lakh tonnes, Confed 1.53 lakh tonnes, HWC 42,406 tonnes, FCI 2,202 tonnes.
He said district Kurukshetra is leading with the arrival of 4.94 lakh tonnes, followed by Karnal 3.58 lakh tonnes, Fatehabad 2.55 lakh tonnes, Kaithal 2.04 lakh tonnes, Ambala 1.49 lakh tonnes and Yamunanagar 1.07 lakh tonnes.
Besides, 3.08 lakh tonnes of Bajra has also arrived in the mandis of the state during current the Kharif season, the spokesman said.
He said that out of the total Bajra arrival, 2.89 lakh tonnes has been procured by government agencies at the minimum support price and the remaining about 1.90 lakh tonnes has been purchased by the private traders.
