Kochi, Oct 15 (UNI) Nearly 20 international and domestic flights were diverted to other airports or put on hold at the Nedumbaserry International Airport, near here, in the wee hours today due to poor visibility.
The flight operations came back to normalcy by noon.
Among the flights diverted to Thiruvananthapuram were Air Arabia flight G9 421 from Sharjah, Kuwait Airways flight KU 351 from Kuwait, Air India Express flights IX 434 from Dubai, IX 412 from Sharjah, Gulf Air flight GF 270 from Bahrain, Oman Air flight WY 827 from Muscat, Air India flight IC 596 from Sharjah and Qutar Airways flight QR 264 from Doha.
Air India flight IC 974 from Muscat flew to Chennai without landing at Kochi.
The SriLankan Airlines flight UL 166 from Colombo, Jet Airways flight 9W 535 from Doha, Emirates flight EK 530 from Dubai, Air India Express flight IX 472 from Doha/Bahrain/Kozhikode and Air India flight IC 998 from Bahrain/Doha/ Kozhikode were put on hold.
In domestic sector, Air India flight AI 690 from Mumbai was delayed by ten hours. IC466 from T'Puram, Kingfisher flight IT 3409 Mumbai-Kochi-Mumbai and Jet Airways flight 9W 405 from Mumbai were delayed by three hours. Jet Airways flight 9W 3529 from Chennai was delayed by one hour.
The flights were delayed yesterday also due to poor visibility.
