Media plays vital role in conveying government messeges
Mysore, Oct 15 (UNI) The Newspapers play a vital role in publishing the government's decision and policies to educate the society, observed Karnataka Minister for Higher Education Aravind Limbavali here today.
Speaking after inaugurating a two-day state level media Fest for upcoming Journalists, organised by the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, Mahajana First Grade College here, he said that the notices and circulars issued by the government take a long time in reaching the concerned Department and the people, but the Journalists by gathering the news and publish them to reach the people the very next day.
Stating that the efforts to speed up works in the Government offices has not fetched expected result despite fortnightly review meetings, Mr Limbavali said that the snail's pace of movement of government files should be expedited taking a cue from the scribes, he opined.
Over 250 Journalism students from various colleges in the State are participating in the two-day Fest featuring various competitions, interactions, lectures and discussions assisted by experts in the field.
