Agartala, Oct 15 (UNI) In a major breakthrough, Tripura police has arrested two kingpins of Agartala serial blasts last night and recovered the mobile set used as remote for the blasts on October 1.
Police said here today that the main accused Bikash Debbarma (25) was arrested from Khowai along with the explosive supplier Dinesh Debbarma (27), a surrendered ATTF militant. The duo were taken into police remand for 10 days.
Acting on a confessional statement of previously arrested Shanti Debbarma and Angad Santhal, over ground activists of ATTF, police recovered mobile set from a pond behind the house,where police seized some bomb making materials and diagram last week.
Meanwhile, interrogation of ATTF collaborators Shanti Debbarma, Angad Santhal and Brajamohan Debbarma revealed that Ulfa rebels had provided primary training to a group of militants, besides supplying them bomb-making materials.
Sources in the CID said Surjya Debbarma, whose father Brajamohan is now in custody, masterminded the blasts.
According to the arrested militants, a group of Tiger Force activists including Surjya were intensively trained by a group of BDR and DGFI officers at Muksinghat near Chittagong town in Bangladesh in August and September.
