Chennai, Oct 15 (UNI) Air Customs Commisioner in Chennai airport was in for a rude shock today when he recovered narcotic substance, Ketamine hydrochloride in two seperate envolopes, cleverly hidden between the pages of two copies of Bible here today.
According to airport police, the Commissioner C Rajan was examining parcels courierd to foreign addresses for clearance when he grew suspicious about one of them addressed to a recipient in California in America from a sender in Anna Salai Chennai.
When he set the parcel aside and opened it after clearing the others, he found two copies of the Bible. When he perused the copies he found an envolope in each of the books. Both the covers contained 70 Grams each of Ketamine hydrochloride worth Rs 70,000 in international market.
A team of customs police rushed to trace the sender Paul Menon.
But the address turned out to be false. The parcel was addressed to one Brand Williams in California. A case was registered and investigation was on.
