Lucknow, Oct 15 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government today reviewed the Solid Waste Management Project in seven cities and passed directions for its early implementation.
UP Chief Secretary Atul Kumar Gupta in a review meet at Annexe here gathered information about the Solid Waste Management Scheme at 26 cities being run under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) and Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme For Small and Medium Town (UIDSSMT).
A total of Rs 241.59 crore have been approved for seven towns naming Kanpur, Lucknow, Agra, Meerut, Mathura, Varanasi and Allahabad under the JNNURM, while Rs 169.03 crore scheme have been approved for the remaining cities under the UIDSSMT.
Later, the Chief Secretary asked the officials to ensure the effective implementation of the scheme.
