Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 15 (UNI) The Kerala Government today assured rice mill owners in the state that their demand for increased procurement price for paddy would be favourably considred.
Food and Civil Supplies Minister C Divakaran and Agriculture Minister Mullakkara Ratnakaran told them that their demand could be met only with the cooperation of the Centre, says an official press release.
They expected that the Centre would announce a revised procurement price for paddy on the basis of representations made by the state within two weeks.
If there was any delay on the part of the Centre, alternative steps would be taken to settle the issue, they added.
