Panaji, Oct 15 (UNI) Condemning the attack on social activist Adv Aires Rodrigues, Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat has said his government would take a well-studied decision on the demand for an impartial inquiry made by Education Minister Atanasio Monserrate into the attack on Mr Rodrigues and the charge of raping a German minor girl levelled against his son Rohit by her mother.
Speaking to reporters here late last night after holding an informal meeting with his Cabinet and party colleagus, Mr Kamat, who returned from national capital, said he was yet to take stock of the incident and that he would seek briefs from home minister Ravi Naik and top police brass before taking any decision.
Commenting on the law and order situation, he said the incident (assault) was a typical one that needed to be condemned and hastened to add that similar incidents had occurred in the past too.
It may be noted that on October two, German woman Ms Fadela Fuchs has filed a complaint against Rohit, accusing him of allegedly sexually assaulting her minor daughter, outraging her modesty and sending obscene text messages through mobile phone of his father.
Rohit has been booked under sections 293 r/w 109 IPC and sec 8(2) of Goa Children's act 2003 (rape, outraging Modesty, sending lewd&obscene sms, abetment&Sec 8(2) goa Children act).
