Dasmunsi's condition improves, put off the ventilator
New Delhi, Oct 15 (UNI) The condition of Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi, who has been in the Cardiac Care unit of the All India Institute for Medical Sciences since Monday following acute heart problem, today showed signs of improvement.
''Mr Dasmunsi is showing very slow signs of recovery. He has been put off the ventilator since this morning. Also, he has been showing improvement in the neurological status,'' AIIMS spokesperson Y K Gupta said.
He also said Mr Dasmunsi's vitals continued to be stable. ''His blood pressure and heart beat too remained stable,'' he said.
The Minister was admitted to the AIIMS early Monday morning after he complained of breathlessness due to lung congestion caused by a complete left ventricular failure.
President Pratibha Patil and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi have visited the Minister in hospital to enquire about his health.
The senior Congress leader had suffered a heart attack on July 6 while he was on way to Kolkata from Malda after attending a meeting.
He had undergone an angioplasty and stenting of two coronary arteries in a hospital in Kolkata.
