New Delhi, Oct 15 (UNI) In a strong warning to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati in the context of the cancellation of the land acquired for the rail coach factory in Rae Bareli, the Congress today said its workers would not allow her to tour outside her state if she continued to pursue the 'politics of vendetta." "If she does not rein in her dictatorial tendency, she will have to face the consequences," AICC Spokesman Manish Tewari told mediapersons, while pointing out that Congress was an organisation which had workers in each and every village in the country.
Replying to a question, he said the Congress would take on Ms Mayawati politically.
In this context, Mr Tewari said UPCC Chief Rita Bahuguna would announce the details of the agitational programmes against the Mayawati Government at Lucknow in the next two days.
Referring to the statement of Ms Mayawati made at a Press conference in Lucknow today that her action in cancelling the rail coach project was not dictated by the desire for political revenge, he said "this is absolutely contrary to the truth as reflected in her actions over the past one and a half years." Mr Tewari said "the politics of Ms Mayawati is based on the spectre of fear, revenge and corruption. Her corruption is legendary.
Monuments from Lucknow to Delhi tell its own story." Asked if the Congress would go to court against Ms Mayawati, the spokesman said "we will fight her politically in the public space and not in court of law." UNI SH RR GC1838
