Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 14 (UNI) Communist Party of India (Marxist) Kerala Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan today sought the support of all political parties to the October 17 dharna before the Parliament by Chief Minister V S Achuthandan and his Cabinet collegues to protest against the Centre's ''neglect'' of the state.
In a statement here, he alleged that the Centre's move was to push the state to poverty and the agitation by the Chief Minister, his cabinet colleagues, MPs and MLAs from the state was to end the Centre's ''wrong polices'' towards Kerala.
Mr Vijayan alleged that the Centre continued to cut down foodgrain quota to the state despite repeated representations by the Chief Minister for its restoration. Cut in the allocation of electricity from the Central pool had also added to the vows of the state, he added.
If the Congress-led Opposition United Democratic Front had any responsibility to the people it should cooperate with the agitation, Mr Vijayan said.
