Upgrade manufacturing standard to compete globally
Bhubaneswar, Oct 14 (UNI) Orissa Secretary for Industries A P Padhi today urged the industrial units to upgrade manufacturing standard, and the service sector to provide quality service to compete globally Addressing a function organised here by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Bhubaneswar to mark the ''World Standard Day'' Mr Padhi said the state would not stand only on the laurels of plenty of natural resources, considerably the driving force for the economic growth but has to improve its human resources as well.
Mr Padhi further said,the state needs to go for skill development technology upgradation and finance for the survival of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMES) in the present.
He also called upon the BIS to assist the state in maintaining the quality of skill development and technology.
Export Promotion Marketing Director P K Mallick said, with the coming up of a number of integrated steel plants, refineries, power plants and service sectors, the state should focus more on maintaining high quality and standards.
BIS Director A K Chatterjee also spoke on the occasion.
