Spl funds for K'taka Taluk Panchayats, Corporations: CM
Mysore, Oct 14 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today announced that special funds would be allocated in the next Budget to Taluk Panchayats and Corporations for overall development.
Speaking at the centenary celebrations of Siddaganga seer Shivakumar Swamiji, he said already Rs 100 crore had been earmarked for various Corporations and it would be extended to district, taluk and local bodies to take up developmental works in a big way.
The state would witness a sea change during the next three years with the overall development of each and every sector.
Claiming that the financial position of the state was sound, he said there was no dearth of the funds to take up developmental programmes and fulfil the promises made in the election manifesto.
Taking a dig at the Opposition parties, Mr Yeddyurappa said they should play a constructive role and abide by the peoples' verdict.
''Anything against the verdict would be an assault on the democratic set up of the country,'' he added.
