Security agencies on toes after Advani's chopper fails to land
Kozhikode, Oct 14 (UNI) Security agencies were on their toes today when Opposition Leader in the Lok Sabha and BJP Prime Ministerial Candidate L K Advani's chopper landed at the Karippur airport instead of of here where he was to attend an award function.
Mr Advani was originally scheduled to arrive by a special helicopter at Vikram Maidan at West Hill in the city. However, he was flown to Karippur airport surprising the security agencies.
Talking to UNI, Airport Deputy Director V S P Chinston said confused over the directions given by programme organisers to land the chopper at Vikram Maidam, its pilot landed at Karippur airport.
However, the chopper, chartered from Deccan Aviation, left for Vikram Maidan after about 20 minutes enabling Mr Advani to attend the function, he said.
Meanwhile, police sources said they were not aware of any change in the travel plan.
