Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Oct 14 (UNI) President Pratibha Devisingh Patil will visit Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) here on November 2 to attend its golden jubilee celebrations.
''Preparations for Ms Patil's proposed visit have begun,'' Dr Nagnath Kottapalle, vice-chancellor of the BAMU, told UNI today.
He said various committees have been formed, in view Ms Patil's visit.
The committees comprise heads of the departments of the university, teaching, non-teaching staff and students.
Dr Kottapalle said freedom fighters, former VCs and teachers will also be invited for the programme.
Prominent among those who will arrive with the President are Maharashtra Governor S C Jamir, Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, Higher and Technical Education Minister Dilip Walse-Patil and Guardian Minister of the district Dr Patangrao Kadam.
She will release a document on the varsity's vision for next 20 years along with first volume of the university's history, he added.
