Bangalore, Oct 14 (UNI) Union Home Minister Shivaraj Patil today said the Centre was ready to provide security to five states where assembly polls are to be held in the next two months.
He told reporters on the sidelines of a programme here that the Election Commission had taken the decision to conduct the elections after taking into consideration the security aspect.
He said the Centre was ready to provide any extra security for the assembly polls and as per the requirement of the Election Commission.
''If need be it will draw forces from BSF for smooth conducting of the polls,'' he said.
The five states which were slated to go to polls are Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Delhi and Rajastan.
