NAAC members visit Jamal Mohamed College

Tiruchirapalli, Oct 14 (UNI) As part of extension of accreditation, a three-member NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) team today arrived at the Jamal Mohamed College (Autonomous) for a three-day visit.

Talking to newspersons here, College Alumini Association Chairman Hidayathullah said the team would validate the self-study report submitted by the college.

The college was accredited with a five-star status in 2002, he added.

The team members were V Ramakistayya (Chairman), former Vice-Chancellor, Osmania University, Hyderabad, N V Narashimhan (Member-Coordinator), Director, School of Management Studies, Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi, and M R Kurup (Member), Secretary, KET's Vase College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Mumbai.

The college had already introduced Ph D and M Phil programmes in selected subjects.

Fashion Technology, Nutrition and Dietetics and Hotel Management and Catering Science were the new courses introduced by the college recently.
