Pune, Oct 14 (UNI) Ace shuttler Saina Nehwal dumped South Africa's Hay Beth Godfrey in straight games to sail into the quarter-finals of the Commonwealth Youth Games here today.
The Olympian took just 15 minutes to overcome the challenge of her South African rival whom she beat 21-7, 21-4.
The smashes were flowing from the Indian's racquet as she did not give Godfrey any space to settle down and she used her expertise to good effect throughout the match.
In the first game, Saina grabbed eight consecutive points, while in the second she increased it by another.
Saina had nine smash winners to her rival's none.
The Indian might not find a tough competition at the CYG and would surely grab a gold medal but she would get some useful practice for the upcoming World Junior Championships slated to be held here later this month.
In an another singles match in the girls' section, Sikki Reddy proved good enough to overwhelm Kate Robertshaw of England 21-16, 21-19 in 24 minutes and made way into the quarter-finals as well.
Gurusaidutt, too had an easy outing today where he beat Joel Dubel of Seychelles 21-4, 21-2 in the pre quarter finals match of the boys singles.
Aditya Prakash also sailed into the last eight stage defeating James Hooijdonk of Wales 21-17 21-13.
