Dry weather prevailed in North Interior Karnataka

Bangalore, Oct 14: Following is a Summary of observations recorded by weather office here at 8 30 am on Tuesday, Oct 14 SouthWest monsoon has withdrawn from some parts of North Interior Karnataka.

Southwest monsoon was weak Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka. Dry weather prevailed over North Interior Karnataka.

Chief amounts of rainfall (cm): Sulya 6; Konanur 4; Bantwal, Periyapatna, Srirangapatna, K E R Sagara 3 each; Virajpet, Hallimysore 2 each; Hunsur, K.R.Nagara, Nanjangud, Kollegal 1 each.

Temperatures : Maximum temperature rose at many places over Coastal Karnataka however fell at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and changed little over North Interior Karnataka. They were appreciably above normal at most places being markedly so at many places over Coastal Karnataka and were normal over Interior Karnataka. Honavar recorded highest maximum temperature of 36 degrees Celsius over the State.

Minimum temperatures changed little over the State. They were below normal at many places being appreciably so at a few places over North Interior Karnataka and were normal over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka. Bijapur and Bagalkote both recorded lowest mininmum temperature of 17.6 degree Celsius over the State.

Forecast valid until Thursday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over North Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over all the districts of North Interior Karnataka.

Local forecast: Generally cloudy. Rain/thundershowers likely. Maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 27 and 20 degree Celsius respectively.
