Lucknow, Oct 14 (UNI) Even the recent life imprisonment by the special TADA court could not dampen the spirits of mafia don Om Prakash Srivastava alias Babloo Srivastava who celebrated his 46th birthday with much funfare at the civil court permises here today.
The don, presently lodged in Bareilly central jail, reached here this morning to appear in a case. Sweets were also distributed by his supporters to celebrate the occasion.
Several supporters of Babloo presented flowers to him and wished his early release from jail.
Film producer Shabnam Praveen, who is making a feature film on the don's life, was also present on the occasion.
Later, talking to mediapersons, Babloo expressed hope that he would soon be free though the special court of Kanpur had convicted him of life term in the 1993 murder of an assistant custom commissioner in Allahabad.
Counsel of the don would be moving the Allahabad High Court against the judgement of the special court of Kanpur on September 30 last.
Babloo said that if released, he might also act in his film 'Adhura Khwab' which is also the name of his autobigraphy. The film produced by Shabnam is on the floor, in which Bollywood actor Ajay Devgan any don the mantle of the mafia king on the silver screen.
The multi-starrer film, estimated to cost about Rs 20 crore would also have renowned artistes like Amitabh Bachchan, Kajol and beauty queen Yukta Mukhi, it is claimed.
'Adhura Khwab,' released last year, depicts the don's dream of seeing Dawood Ibrahim behind bars which still remains unfulfilled.
Babloo, who has already spent over 10 years in jail after been nabbed in Singapore in 1997, has spent seven months on this 233-page book and was receiving 15 per cent royalty besides Rs 2.4 lakh one time payment for the book.
