Jaipur, Oct 14 (UNI) The ruling BJP and opposition Congress, main contenders in December 4 Assembly elections in Rajasthan, have expressed satisfaction over the announcement of the election schedule and said they were comfortable with the election dates.

Talking to UNI, BJP state president sitting MP Om Prakash Mathur said that the ruling party was all prepared to go to the polls comfortably and was having sure initial edge over the rival Congress which was facing a leadership crisis.

''We have a lead as well as leader to project before the electorate whereas the Congress was a marriage party without a groom,'' Mr Mathur said.

Congress state president C P Joshi also claimed that his party was ready to face the ruling BJP challenge at the hustings.

Mr Joshi said morale of the Congress workers and supporters was very high as they had been sensing pro Congress sentiments among the people.

''Voters are all prepared to defeat the saffron party whose Government has failed to deliver good,''Mr Joshi said.

He said his party was having no convention of projecting leader prior to the election and said the leader had to be chosen by elected MLAs only.

State Election Department has expressed its full preparedness for conducting smooth polling.

Chief electoral officer Vinod Zutsi said electoral rolls were ready and all due arrangements for the polling were being initiated.

The basis would be photo electoral rolls as on September 29, but supplimentaries would be brought till November 17 the last date of filing nominations, for accommodating additions and alterations, Mr Zutsi said.

He said photo voters cards were a must for casting votes this time and therefore, all voters were required to possess the same while casting vote.

Mr Zutsi said model code of conduct had been enforced in the state and all officials and political parties were asked to abide by the same.

Mr Zutsi held discussions with all District Electoral Officers and representatives of recognised 7 political parties over poll related issues this afternoon.
