Moscow, Oct 13 (UNI) Russia will hold an international conference devoted to nanotechnology on December 3-5.
''The main goal is the applied use of nano products and technology in different areas - industry, business as well as everyday life,'' Russian Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov told RIA Novosti news agency.
''We want this forum to be held on an annual basis in Moscow,'' Mr Ivanov said.
The conference is expected to feature round table meetings, plenary sessions, press conferences and seminars involving leaders from the global nanotechnology industry.
Leading experts from Austria, the UK, Finland, and the US, as well as the Asian nations of South Korea, Japan and China are due to take part in the event.
The forum steering committee is scheduled to hold its first session this week, the Deputy PM said, adding that the forum preparations would start shortly after the meeting.
Last month, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev appointed Anatoly Chubais as head of the State Nanotechnology Corporation.
