Pak educationist to get Int'l Award at Oct 18-19 AMU summit
New Delhi, Oct 13 (UNI) Pakistani educationist Mohd Zakir Ali Khan will get the Sir Syed International Award for Literature 2008, during the two-day World Summit of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) from October 18-19.
Prof P K Abdul Aziz, Vice Chancellor(VC) of AMU in a press statement today said a Corpus fund of Rs 100 crore would be set up by the University for the academic rejuvenation and all round progress of the students.
People from Australia, Africa and other places would participate in the two-day World Summit.
Vice-President Mohammed Hamid Ansari would innaugurate the event.
Governors of Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand T V Rajeswar and Syed Sibtey Razi respectively would be the guests of honour.
Other dignatories former Chief Justice of India A M Ahmadi, Prof Irfan Habib, Prof P K Abdul Azis, and eminent alumni from the US Dr Massad Akhtar, Dr Hasan Kamal, Dr Masarrat Ali, Mr Nadeem A Tareen(Saudi Arabia) and Mr Kaukab Hameed (secratary Old Boys Association, Aligarh) would attend the function.
