Over 15 lakh tonne paddy arrives in Haryana mandis
Chandigarh, Oct 13 (UNI) Over 15.44 lakh tonnes of paddy and 2.93 lakh tonnes of Bajra have arrived in the mandis of Haryana during the current Kharif season so far.
Stating this here today, a spokesman for the Food and Supplies Department said that out of the total paddy arrival, 9.76 lakh tonnes had been procured by the government agencies at the minimum support price and the remaining about 5.68 lakh tonnes had been purchased by the private millers and traders.
He said Hafed had procured 3.99 lakh tonnes of paddy, Food and Supplies Department had procured 3.03 lakh tonnes, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 1.00 lakh tonnes and Confed had purchased 1.36 lakh tonnes of paddy.
He said Kurukshetra district was leading with the arrival of 4.62 lakh tonnes , followed by Karnal 3.34 lakh tonnes, Fatehabad 2.14 tonnes, Kaithal 1.78 lakh tonnes and Ambala 1.24 lakh tonnes.
Of the total Bajra arrival, 2.74 tonnes had been procured by government agencies at the minimum support price and the remaining about 18,848 metric tonnes had been purchased by the private traders.
