Chennai, Oct 13 (UNI) Ruling out his immediate entry into politics, Superstar Rajnikanth today warned his fans against floating a party in his name, unveiling a flag for it and using his portrait.
In a typical punch line which he is known to deliver in his films Mr Rajnikanth, in a statement here said, ''I firmly state that no one can compel me to enter politics, and if I decide to enter politics no one can prevent me from doing so.'' The superstar's assertion comes in the wake of a section of his fans in Coimbatore launching a political party in his name. However, Rajni's manager clarified that the posters announcing that Rajnikant had launched a political party were put up not by his fans but those expelled from his fan clubs.
Mr Rajnikant in his statement further said he was presently busy with the shooting of Shankar new film ''Endiran''(Robot).
However, his fans, if they were keen on joining politics, were free to join whichever political party they liked or wished.
''But I will never allow my fans or others to launch a political party in my name, unveiling a party flag and using my portrait'', he said.
Those who indulge in such acts would be expelled from the primary membership of the Fans' Association. If they continue to indulge in such acts, even after their removal from the Association, he would initiate legal action, Mr Rajnikanth warned.
After the launch of political parties by actors Vijaykant and Sarat Kumar in Tamil Nadu recently and Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi neighbouring state, Rajnikant's fans have been compelling him to follow suit and lunch a political party.
But Rajnikant appeared to be reluctant to take the plunge and has stated that he was busy with his new film ''Endiran''.
