Jammu, Oct 13 (UNI) The army troops foiled yet another infiltration bid and gunned down one militant when a group tried to enter the Indian territory from Nowshera area of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir, sources here today said.
''The troops noticed a movement on the Line of Control (LoC) near Devkas Nala in Nowshera area late last night.
The group of militants, which was trying to enter the Indian side, opened fire on the Indian post,'' official sources told UNI.
However, the fire was retaliated and during exchange of firing one militant was killed, sources added, asserting, ''two ak-47 rifles, four ak magazines and 112 rounds of ammunition were recovered from the site.'' The militants escaped from the site after gun battle while the army launched a search operation as presence of infiltrators cannot be ruled out.
The attempts to infiltrate into the Indian side from across the border has increased and being supported by the Pak ranger and Pakistani army by giving cover fire to the militants.
