A final picture would emerge in the next few days for contesting the by-elections together for the eight Assembly seats in the state, he told reporters here on the sidelines of a party function.
Stating that JD(S) was in the process of holding talks with the Congress leaders of the state, he said his party would not hesitate to approach the Congress High Command on the alliance issue.
The question of seat sharing would be taken up only after both the parties decide to come together, he added.
According to Mr Kumaraswamy, the newly appointed Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President R V Deshpande had expressed his mind for coming together to fight seven by-elections seats following the resignations of members who joined BJP as part of Operation Lotus.
