India to raise issues of Kabul bombing at NSAs talks

New Delhi, Oct 13 (UNI) India will raise the issues of Kabul embassy bombing and ceasefire violations by Pakistan at the first ever two-day meeting between the National Security Advisors (NSAs) of the two countries which began here today.

Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon, told reporters on the sidelines of a function here that all issues would be discussed with Pakistan NSA MahMud Ali Durrani. These include the Kabul embassy bombing, ceasefire violations and the situation on the border.

Mr Durrani, who arrived here on Saturday on a five-day visit to India, began talks with his Indian counterpart M K Narayanan on the security situation in the region and combating terrorism.

''The talks have just begun...We will do that...We will discuss all isues. Mr Durrani is an old friend...He has interest in India-Pakistan relations,'' the Foreign Secretary said when asked whether India would raise the issue of Kabul embassy bombing at the talks and give some evidence (of ISI involvement) to the Pakistani side.

Mr Narayanan will host a lunch in honour of his Pakistani counterpart tomorrow.

Mr Durrani will also call on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee and BJP President Rajnath Singh tomorrow.

He will leave for Lahore on Wednesday, the External Affairs Ministry said.

Pakistan has recently suffered a series of terrorist attacks, the latest being suicide attack yesterday in its northwest Orakzai region, in which more than 20 people died and 70 were injured.

A suicide attack on September 21 at Marriott Hotel in Islamabad had claimed more than 50 lives and injured over 150 people.
