Car sales up 2.84% in Sept; 2-wheelers up by 14.51%
New Delhi, Oct 13 (UNI) Despite fears of the Indian economy slowing down, increasing input costs and the credit crunch, data released by the SIAM today showed that domestic passenger car sales in the country jumped by 2.84 per cent in September to 1,08,823 units from 1,05,822 units in the coresponding period last year.
According to the figures released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), total two-wheeler sales in September also soared by 14.51 per cent to 7,78,424 units, compared to 6,79,766 units in the same month last year.
Motorcycle sales in the country during the month was up by 15.22 per cent at 6,32,369 units as against 5,48,816 units in the corresponding month a year ago.
However, commercial vehicle sales marginally declined to 42,698 units from 43,091 units.
